The
first class passengers on Northwest Airlines may notice how sophisticated,
poised, and professional their flight attendant is, but they probably
have no idea that the attentive beauty is a champion in every sense
of the word.
Flight
Attendant Nancy Senner's life changed forever when she watched the
Ohio Star Ball on television. Wishing that she could dance, wear
the flowing dresses, and feel like Cinderella, she called a local
dance studio and began taking dance lessons. When her original instructor
left the studio, she continued taking dance lessons with another
instructor - Eddie Ares.

"You're
pretty good at this - would you like to dance in pro-am competitions?"
For about a year, she took lessons with Eddie, not knowing that he
secretly had a crush on her. "One day, I complimented Eddie on
his positive, upbeat disposition and he later responded with, 'You
know, I'd really like to kiss you!' We agreed to meet that night when
he was to perform. I got the kiss he promised and afterwards he really
gave a show on the dance floor!" The infamous "kiss"
was the beginning of Nancy's personal relationship with Eddie. Her
personal relationship with him coupled with her own glamorous style
makes Nancy's dancing dazzling. |

Winning
the title, Ohio Star Ball American Smooth Champion, was an unexpected
surprise for Nancy. The competition for this title included 45 couples
competing for the largest scholarship the Ohio Star Ball ever offered.
"Eddie has goals for all his students. His goal was for us
to be in the top six competitors for this competition. We made the
final cut and Eddie said, 'We've reached our goal, so let's just
have fun now.' But, we won! Eddie actually dropped to his knees
and hugged my knees. We're known for our Latin dancing so I'm really
proud to have won this title."
Nancy attributes
her achievements to two things: Eddie (who also designs all of her
stunning costumes) and hard work. "As a Flight Attendant, I
travel to Tokyo, Japan, approximately three times a month. Sometimes,
as soon as I get home from Tokyo, I unpack one bag, pack another,
and travel to a dance competition with no rest at all." How
does Nancy keep her stamina? "When I'm in Tokyo, I work out
when others are playing. When I'm in Atlanta, I practice dancing
every day and work out every day."
Nancy's life
before she began dancing wasn't always easy. "I've had my
share of pain and difficult times like other people, but I'm really
happy now. " Laughingly, she remembers times during some
of the competitions when everything wasn't perfect either. For
example, "I've had my hairpiece come off in competitions,
and once, when I thought the crowd was cheering particularly loudly
for us, I found out they were noisy because Eddie had split his
pants!"
Not surprisingly,
Nancy is the "unofficial" head of Team Hotlanta. Team
Hotlanta consists of Eddie Ares and all of his students with the
approach of "one for all and all for one." The Team has
a nationwide reputation as superb dancers who conduct themselves
appropriately. Nancy really enjoys answering questions and helping
new dance students learn about costumes, makeup, and competitions.
The team has been so successful, that now other instructors are
asking to join the team.Always willing to help others, Nancy is
truly the epitome of a modern day Cinderella. Effervescent, energetic,
and enchanting, when this Cinderella and her Prince Charming go
to a ball, their chemistry and charisma are spellbinding! Congratulations
on all of your well-deserved accomplishments, Nancy.
